Ballet Folklorico de Chicago (Chicago’s largest and most inclusive ballet folklorico organization) is celebrating our 5th anniversary on Saturday, April 27th from 6 pm to 8 pm at Chicago’s historic, Riviera Theater, located at 4746 N. Racine Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60640.
This event will be a celebration of the Mexican culture and the dance performances will bring you all the folklore of Mexico’s 32 states. The dances encompass the history, geography, traditions and most particularly the influences of the people who lived in the region where the dances originated. Each region was populated by Indigenous, African and Europeans that left their mark with vibrant materials, colors, tempo and sound.
Become closer to our traditions and let the energetic spirit of each Mexican state take over!
